Meet The Team

Dr. Lindsey Koble
Founder & Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Lindsey completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette — Boiler Up! She then attended the University of Illinois in Champaign to obtain her Doctor of Audiology degree. Dr. Lindsay began her career working as a clinical audiologist for Ear, Nose & Throat Associates. She then went on to work for a global hearing aid manufacturer, Signia Hearing. Her combination of clinical and corporate experience gives her a unique perspective on the hearing aid industry and the opportunities available to help those with hearing loss.
Dr. Shelley Zern
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Shelley has been a clinical audiologist for nearly 30 years. She earned her master’s degree in Audiology from Ball State and her professional doctorate in Audiology from Salus University. She has experience working with all age populations in the clinical areas of hearing aids, cochlear implants, diagnostic testing, and educational audiology. She is excited to be a part of the dynamic team of professionals at Audiology Always! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and traveling whenever she can with her husband and son.
Note from Dr. Lindsey ↓
Shelley is the most experienced audiologist on our staff. Actually, she has more experience than the rest of us combined. I was still a student when I first met Shelley. I spent a year at her workplace to complete my final year of graduate school honing my clinical skills. The time I spent with Shelley during that year was primarily during my cochlear implant rotation. I was able to witness the care and compassion she showed to patients during their journey to obtaining a cochlear implant. Beyond that, I admired her intelligence and meticulous manner in which she approached making sure her patients could hear as well as possible.

Following my externship year, Shelley and I became colleagues. Our roles in the practice were very different but Shelley was viewed as a role model to many of us younger audiologists. In my eyes, she had “been there, done that” with most things in the audiology world. Despite this, she never made us younger audiologists feel incompetent or less than, rather she was patient, helpful, and a trustworthy mentor. Shelley’s diagnostic eye, attention to detail, and counseling abilities are admirable to anyone willing to learn.

Since Shelley has joined Audiology Always it’s not uncommon for the 3 of us doctors to stand in the hallway and have a “what would you do” conversation. That banter and sharing of expertise is exactly what I was seeking when adding to team Audiology Always.

Audiology Always is so fortunate to have Dr. Shelley’s experience, knowledge, and camaraderie.
Dr. Jessica O’Sullivan
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Jessica joined the Audiology Always team in February 2024. She completed both her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Audiology from Purdue University. She has over five years of experience as an audiologist at an ENT practice where her specialties were diagnostic testing and working with adult and pediatric hearing aid patients. Since starting at Audiology Always, Dr. Jessica has worked with the veteran community to perform compensation and pension exams, and she is an educational audiologist for the Northeast Indiana Special Education Cooperative. Outside of work, Dr. Jessica is married to her high school sweetheart, who both recently became parents. She enjoys going on road trips and spending time with her family.
Note from Dr. Lindsey ↓
Jessica and I used to be coworkers and I’m thankful we’ve found our way back together. When I first met Jessica she was a Purdue University student and was completing her externship at my workplace. The externship year is the final year of learning and clinical competency before becoming a Doctor of Audiology.

From the very beginning of her externship, Jessica was intelligent, eager to learn, and was the best team player. I always looked forward to days when I was placed in the same clinic as Jessica — we hustled together! When I left that workplace to move to my role with Signia Hearing, Jessica took over my clinic location in Auburn. There’s no one that I trusted more to give my patients the same care and treatment that I did.

When I opened Audiology Always, I knew that hiring the right team with consistent values and patient care was going to be a big task — but Jessica checks all the boxes (and then some). We joke in the office that Jessica is our IT team. If we have a computer issue, hearing aid issue, equipment issue — we know Jessica will go the extra mile for us and our patients to figure it out. A secret about Dr. Jessica is that she is also the audiologist for the four county co-op around us. She is an expert in all ages of patients, and the schools and teachers around us are SO lucky to have her in that role.

Jessica was my grandpa’s audiologist for four years while I was out of a clinical role. If I trust Dr. Jessica with his ears, I trust her with all of the ears of Audiology Always. I consider myself lucky that our paths crossed years ago, and I am thankful she believes in the Audiology Always vision!
Amanda Blakesly
Office Manager
Amanda has been with Audiology Always since day 1. She holds the role of Office Manager. In her role she is the first voice that you hear on the phone and the first face that greets you in the lobby, she does insurance verifications, she unboxes and prepares hearing aids, and she keeps the office aligned. Amanda has a rich history in the serving and bartending industry and this is apparent in her customer service skills. Amanda is a Garrett High School graduate and currently resides in Garrett with her family. She spends her free time at her son’s baseball games and enjoys taking family trips to Cincinnati to watch the Reds.
Note from Dr. Lindsey ↓
Amanda and I have known each other for many years. This dates back to when she was a waitress and a bartender and my husband and I were frequent fliers where she worked. When we would enter the restaurant we would always HOPE to be put in Amanda’s section. If nothing else, we’d hope to heck she was the bartender. As you all know, Amanda’s presence is uplifting and comforting.

As I was in the process of opening Audiology Always I saw a Facebook post from Amanda looking for a career change to have a more predictable and stable schedule. Weeks before we opened the door (and before the practice made a single dollar), I asked my husband if we could afford to hire her.

Amanda and I met for lunch one day at Mad Anthony’s in Auburn. She knew nothing about healthcare and absolutely nothing about audiology, but she was willing to learn. I asked her to trust me that it’d be a safe move, and a good move, and she did.

We’ve come a long way from the mountain of Amazon boxes that she walked into on day one and she’s been with me EVERY STEP of the way.

To Amanda, thank you for being the first face and the voice of Audiology Always. There’s no one I’d trust more with the role.
